what if middle schoolers are
far more capable
than we imagine?
An Acton-inspired, faith-based co-op for homeschool families with students in grades 6–8 seeking to grow in ownership, identity, and purpose.
Our 3 North stars
At Providence, we believe every student is on a Hero’s Journey—discovering who God created them to be and how they’re meant to impact the world.
These three North Stars guide how middle schoolers grow, learn, and lead:
Learn to Be
Self-driven learning builds the courage, character, & confidence to become who they were born to be.
Learn to Do
Real-world challenges and life skills help students explore their interests, take ownership & discover their calling.
Learn to Learn
Students develop the habits of lifelong learners—often progressing at an accelerated pace.
How it works
Providence is designed as a partnership between home and studio—giving families the freedom to lead academics at home while providing students with meaningful, in-person experiences that build character, leadership, and purpose.
1) Learn at home
Parents guide core academics at home using Acton’s standards and recommended learning platforms.
Students work at their own pace, building independence, discipline, and ownership over their learning.
With clear progress tracking and built-in systems, parents can monitor and support their child’s growth—without taking on the role of a traditional teacher.
2. Gather for Studio Days
Students come together for Quests, Writer’s Workshop, and Civilization—engaging in real-world challenges, Socratic discussions, and collaborative experiences that build critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
3. Grow in Community & Faith
Through shared experiences, students develop leadership, communication, and a deeper sense of identity and purpose in a Christ-centered environment.
ABOUT PROVIDENCE
Providence is a faith-based, Acton-inspired middle school co-op for homeschooling families who want both freedom at home and meaningful, in-person learning experiences.
Families lead core academics at home using Acton’s standards and recommended learning platforms, while studio days are designed for collaboration, real-world challenges, and growth in character, leadership, and purpose within a Christ-centered community.
We integrate the following:
-
Providence is built on a partnership between home and studio.
Families guide core academics at home, while students come together during the week for collaborative learning experiences, real-world challenges, and meaningful discussions facilitated during studio days.
This model allows students to build independence and ownership in their learning, while benefiting from structure, accountability, and community.
-
Parents play an active role in their child’s education—supporting daily academic progress at home while partnering with Providence to provide a rich, faith-centered learning experience.
With clear goals, recommended tools, and progress tracking, parents are able to guide and support their child without needing to take on the role of a traditional teacher.
This approach fosters independence, responsibility, and strong family connection.
-
Studio days are where learning comes to life.
Students participate in Quests, Socratic discussions, Writer’s Workshop, and Civilization—engaging in meaningful challenges and collaborative experiences that develop critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
This is the space where students practice applying what they are learning, build relationships, and grow in confidence.
-
Students progress at their own pace in core academics at home, allowing for deeper mastery without pressure or comparison.
This flexibility gives students the time and space to strengthen foundational skills while developing discipline, focus, and ownership over their learning.
-
Providence is a Christ-centered environment where faith is naturally woven into learning, relationships, and daily life.
Through both home and studio experiences, students grow not only academically, but also in character, identity, and purpose.
Participation in church life, youth activities, and opportunities for servant leadership is strongly encouraged—helping students live out their faith in meaningful, real-world ways.
